와이어를 활용한 모듈형 뱀 로봇 개발
This work shows a new way to drive a snake robot. Existing snake-shaped robots have motors placed in joints. We have developed a modular snake robot that is driven by wire differently from the conventional method. Three wires are placed in each module, enabling three-dimensional operation. Each module consists of three bodies: a motor, a controller, and a battery. Raspberry Pi Zero W is placed on the head part as a master, and Arduinos are placed on the bodies as a slave. Each of them communicates via RS485. In this way, it can be advanced to the caterpillar motion through the tension and contraction.
