Fabrication and physical properties of reduced graphene oxide papers

The morphology of reduced grapehene oxide (rGO) obtained from graphene oxide (GO) is in the form of powder. The crumpled shape of rGO powders hinders measurements of the intrinsic properties of rGO. As a result, the electrical and mechanical properties of papers made of the rGO powders are remarkably lowered. In the study, we improved the morphology of the rGO powders and measured the electrical and mechanical properties of rGO papers fabricated from the rGO powders. The morphology of the rGO was modified by sonication treatment, resulting in better stacking configurations of rGO papers. The electrical conductivity and mechanical properties of the rGO papers was characterized.
