직교류 내 고체입자 포함 제트유동 가시화 연구
It is well known that for solid particles whose Stokes number is less than one, they tend to accumulate at the positions of higher strain rate (i.e., lower vorticity), so-called preferential particle concentration. In the present study, we experimentally visualize the particle-laden jet flows under cross-flows while varying the velocity ratio (1 to infinity) between jet and crossflow, in a wind-tunnel test bed. In particular, we focus on how the jet structure and particle concentration is affected by the velocity ratio. We use the smoke visualization and particle image velocimetry to characterize the particle-laden jet qualitatively and quantitatively. For the particle distribution at various streamwise (vertical) and transverse locations from the jet inlet, instantaneous flow fields and movement of solid particles that are 10um Silicon (99.9% and Stokes number is 0.02 – 0.08) are to be discussed.
