Energy barriers calculation of deformable body adhesion to solid surface by using numerical modeling in Cassie-Baxter wetting mode
The phenomenon that the particles adhere to the surface is referred to as particle surface adhesion. Understanding of this phenomenon has been studied so far because it can be applied to various technologies because it can determine the hydrophilicity and hydrophobicity of the material surface by changing the topology of surface. In this paper, we introduce a numerical model developed to understand the surface adhesion mechanism of a deformable body to a solid surface. Then, we validated this study by comparing A.Shaharz et al.(2012) and D. Kim et al.(2016)'s analytical solution which calculate the surface energy and contact angle of water droplet adhered to the solid surface in Cassie-Baxter wetting mode. In addition, the surface energy barriers that are generated when the contact angle changes in the Cassie-Baxter wetting mode are calculated.
