Tribology 손상 저감 설계를 위한 접촉역학 응용

This paper is dealing with a use of contact mechanics in the mechanical design of tribological system. The governing equations of singular integral equation form are basically used. The design examples are: i) the contour control in thin strip forming, ii) corner radius control in machining process, and iii) alignment control of the contacting bodies. Through these, it is attempted to show that the contact mechanics can provide a way to determine the dimensions and tolerances of the mechanical components, which often appear in the fabrication drawings but are often determined following the conventional experiences without particular rationale. Of course, the contact mechanics is not the only tool for it but it is addressed here that a concern of alleviating the tribological failures can give a clue as well as a logical background in such a component design. It also reveals how the sophisticated equations in the engineering mechanics can be applied to the actual design works in the industrial field.
