Factors influence on the results of the pump field performance test are originating from the inside of the pump and from the outside of the pump. The factors originating from the outside of the pump are as follows. First, it is an error of the instruments. If the instrument is not properly calibrated or properly installed, it may show an error above the tolerance. Second, the reading error of the meter. If there is a large flow and pressure fluctuation, there may be a difference depending on who reads the meter. Third, it does not accurately reflect position difference of inlet and outlet pressure gauge, pipe friction loss and speed head.
Several times of field performance test was conducted to analyze the cause of the performance difference between the factory performance test and the field performance test of the centrifugal pump.
