단분산 액적을 이용한 고성능 분무탑 방식의 CO2 흡수장치

A spray tower is the simplest type of chemical absorption reactor and have been used in a variety of applications. In this device, sorbent solution is sprayed into a rising gas stream that contains CO2. However, spray towers emit absorbent droplets that are quite non-uniform in the size distribution and spatial distribution as a result, capture efficiency is degraded. A novel highly efficient spray tower using uniform spray was developed in this study. The tower uses a multi-nozzle plate, and can spray sorbent drops of almost the same size vertically and quite uniformly across the gas-flow cross-section. CO2 capture efficiency reached ~95%, the best-ever value with a spray tower for CO2. The same technique can be applied to other absorption or regeneration processes.
