Ultraviolet (UV) curable coatings have now been widely used in surface treatment, electronics, pigmentation, and adhesive fields due to their distinctive features of fast cure speed, energy saving characteristic, and lower pollution potential. In this study, a mold system was developed to integrate injection molding and UV curable coating. Based on flow simulation, a coating channel and overflow areas were designed. A mold system was fabricated with one core and two cavities, which the cavities consisted of a substrate cavity and a coating cavity. In order to expose the UV light to the coating layer, LEDs were arrayed on a PCB board and inserted into a transparent mold of the coating cavity.
