Experimental study of a RTC (reaction torque compensated) induction motor
HoangManhHai, 정재성, Hyeong-Joon Ahn(숭실대학교)
A large reaction torque of an induction motor is transmitted and causes excessive vibration of the system base when the rotor speed changes rapidly or unexpected torque load is suddenly applied to the rotor. The vibration of the system base not only affects the quality of a process but also reduces the life span of the entire system. In order to reduce the vibration of the system base, a passive reaction torque compensated (RTC) induction motor was proposed. The RTC induction motor has rotary stator while a conventional induction motor is fixed stator. In this paper, experimental study is performed to confirm effectiveness of the RTC induction motor. A RTC induction motor test rig is built and its control system is constructed with a DSP. Step response tests of rotating speed of both RTC and conventional induction motor are compared.
