이산요소법을 이용한 접촉 모델 별 입자 패킹 시뮬레이션을 위한 새로운 기법 연구
Discrete Element Method (DEM) is one of the most popular numerical technology to represent the behavior of particles in powder packing process. Simulation steps of powder packing usually consists of particle generation, particle deposition, and compaction. The size of particle used in actual industry is usually under a micron and it means that the number of particle treated in simulation should be quite large. The main difficulty of simulation results from the tremendous time consuming for computing. To reduce the computing time, we suggest a new technique for powder packing called ‘Grow Particle Method’. The results show that the new technique, Grow Particle Method, is in harmony with the previous method, i.e. generation, deposition, and compaction. Consequently, the new method represents the identical results but shorter computing time.
