Influence of the sheet thickness on the formability and the ductility limit of AISI 430
In order to evaluate the effect of the thickness reduction on the formability and the forming limit diagrams of AISI 430, several forming tests were performed. The relevant test is deep drawing, hydraulique bulge and ductility limit experiments. It was observed that the level of force is almost proportional to the thickness of the metallic sheet under displacement imposed loading. For two studied thicknesses 0.2 mm and 0.4 mm, it was also depicted that the ductility limit is almost unchanged for positive loading path but decreases drastically with the sheet thickness for negative loading path.
